Ever wondered what's in your pet's food? Choosing the correct product can be a maze of shinny packaging and further investigation often reveals ingredients that are not only confusing but sound like they belong in a laboratory.

 

Shaun, the owner of Pure Petfoods NZ wondered the same thing and the more time he looked for the correct product the more confused he became. The one thing that quickly became obvious was the pet food industry was driven by cheap waste products including offal, grain, preservatives and by-products; an industry driven by money, not what's best for pets.

 

Shaun's career led him to rely on pet health and wellbeing, working dogs for use in conservation. This was often in very remote areas, steep terrain and for extended periods of time - To be successful Shaun (like any dog owners) demanded the best food for his dogs and saw only one way to do this - Make his own - this is where Pure Petfoods NZ was born.
